wedding photographs from country-festival themed wedding at brookhall

When you get to photograph the wedding of a former Miss Northern Ireland and a high-energy mindset coach, with a shared love of country music, you know you're in for some fabulous photography moments. Lauren and Jonny’s wedding at Brookhall in Lisburn was nothing short of magical – a laid-back, joy-filled celebration that perfectly reflected their vibrant personalities and modern love story.

As a wedding photographer, I get to witness so many incredible love stories—but Lauren and Jonny’s wedding at Brookhall in Lisburn was truly one for the books.

Lauren, who held the title of Miss Northern Ireland from 2019 to 2021, and Jonny, a successful online mindset coach, are no strangers to the camera. This wedding was always going to be something special—and we were thrilled to capture the photographs.

From the moment guests arrived at Brookhall, the tone was set: this wasn’t your average wedding. Think rustic charm, open fields, and a relaxed outdoor setup that felt more like a summer garden party than a formal event. Their wedding had a laid-back, country music festival vibe that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple. Lauren’s mum Lisa is so creative and she put all her talents into the wedding. The tea room was filled with sandwiches, cakes, scones, fresh cream, shortbread and traybake - it was like walking into Charlie and the chocolate factory for adults.

Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, the couple opted for a BBQ feast, served alongside plenty of champagne and beer. It was warm, welcoming, and completely stress-free—exactly the kind of energy they wanted to share with their guests.

As night fell, the celebrations hit a new high with a live performance from Irish country music star Jonny Brady, who headlined the evening entertainment. The atmosphere was electric—guests singing at the top of their lungs, dancing under the stars, and making the kind of memories that last a lifetime.

There were no strict timelines, no formalities—just music, love, and connection. It was the kind of night that you never want to end.

What made this wedding so special to photograph wasn’t just the style or the energy (although both were amazing)—it was the authenticity. Lauren and Jonny were unapologetically themselves. Every moment, from the emotional ceremony to the non-stop dancing, was real, raw, and full of life.

The staircase in Lauren'‘s home is so grand and perfect for Lauren to walk down to reveal the dress to her Dad Trevor and her papa. The picture below was number one on the list - the first look with Dad and papa. The images after this one were filled with tears and emotions but we thought we would leave them private for Lauren herself.

After the wedding ceremony in Stoneyford Church, we stopped off in Hillsborough for some photographs. I had suggested that Arthurs on the Main Street would be beautiful for some of the images. I go there for coffee regularly and always think it would be the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. I was thrilled when Lauren said she had got this organised and we had the venue for some photographs before running down Hillsborough Main Street and popping into The Plough for a sneaky Guinness.

Lauren and Jonny’s wedding at Brookhall in Lisburn was everything a Northern Ireland wedding should be—personal, joyful, and bursting with character. From the relaxed country festival vibe to heartfelt moments shared with family and friends, every detail reflected the love they share and the life they’re building together.

As a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland, these are the days that remind me why I do what I do. Capturing real connections, unfiltered joy, and once-in-a-lifetime memories like Lauren and Jonny’s is truly a privilege.
